Spring 2020 Reading for the Common Good

Spring 2020 Reading for the Common Good

We are excited to announce the Reading for the Common Good program for the Spring 2020 semester. The program is designed to facilitate gatherings and conversation (a common good) in order to discuss issues or problems related to our lives together (the common good).

Here’s how it works: Any SVHE member can request to participate with the requirement that he or she will gather 8-10 colleagues during the spring semester to discuss a book related to the theme of our summer meeting (we recommend monthly meetings). Let us know if you’re interested and we’ll buy the books for you!  This semester you can choose one of two books:

Joseph E. Aoun, Robot-Proof: Higher Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

Jessamyn Neuhaus, Geeky Pedagogy: A Guide for Intellectuals, Introverts, and Nerds Who Want to Be Effective Teachers

Contact Eric or Sandy for more information or request books.
