Fall 2018 Reading for the Common Good Book Chosen

Fall 2018 Reading for the Common Good

Our Reading for the Common Good program is designed to facilitate gatherings and conversation (a common good) in order to discuss issues or problems related to our lives together (the common good).

Here’s how it works: Any SVHE member can request to participate with the requirement that he or she will gather 8-10 colleagues during the fall semester to discuss a book related to the theme of our summer meeting (we recommend monthly meetings). Let us know if you’re interested and we’ll buy the books for you!

This semester’s book is:
The New Education: How to Revolutionize the University to prepare students for a World in Flux by Cathy N. Davidson. Davidson is the Distinguished Professor of English and Founding Director of the Futures Initiative at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York.

If you are interested in starting a group contact Sandy or Eric.
